Having moved into a new house the clients had
some work to that needed to be done. The property backed onto a public park with a
foot path on the other side of the boundary fence so something was
required to keep the family dog away from the fence. Additionally,
they wanted a carport off the house to the property line and due to
the odd shape they had trouble finding anyone interested in taking
on the project until they talked to me.
The carport was wider at the back than at the front. This meant
that each rafter would have a different length and pitch and also
that the cut angles on the ends of the blocking between the rafters
would be different for each piece. As can be seen in the last
picture in this category, because width increased while each side's
elavation remained constant, the roof was not flat although
it shed water just fine.
